Beneath the Scars Ministries was founded in 2024 by Maria Fonseca along with secretary, Stephanie Baquedano and Treasurer, Yari Vera. Together they share a passion to serve women of all walks of life and help them experience healing and restoration through the power of Jesus Christ. They enjoy creating events where meaningful connections are made, deep friendships are formed, and spiritual growth takes place. Sharing their love for Jesus Christ is what motivates them to serve Him and their mission is that every woman would experience the loving touch and salvation from Jesus Christ.
Since 2024, they have hosted several retreats in nearby Chicago suburbs were women gathered, laughed, cried, and left feeling loved and connected. The Topics ranged from becoming more rooted in Christ and leaning to use the armor of God to defeat the enemy’s schemes.
In August 2026, they will host their first conference in the city of Chicago and they will be inviting women to bring to light any areas where they are experiencing brokenness so that God can heal and restore them. As in the past events, there is something for everyone including some time combining Scripture and a craft, and prayer time at the altar.
Their hope is that every woman who they meet will feel the love of God through their actions, service, and ministry.
