Society’s outcasts, unified by their destinies meeting at specific point in time.
A brotherhood and sisterhood, often misunderstood by those that hand them a dime
There one of them goes
a homeless
not dwelling on her past
living in the moment
aware of her counted days… yet she never thinks to pray
Her existence, a blemish in a worldly society’s perfectly manicured city
Her foundation, built with worldly material not able to withstand the crushing weight of everyone’s pity.
There she goes
the homeless teenager
Why doesn’t she get a job?
Where is her family?
How did she get there? ….with everyone’s backs turned against her, she couldn’t go anywhere.
Her childhood foundation damaged by men she should trust,
fractures formed at the base when they looked to her to satisfy their lust.
Negligence by her parents now manifested in her young but old age, pregnant and homeless, not even worth minimum wage.
There they go
The homeless teenager and her unborn baby
To the hospital for care
The infection is real
She ponders her options and weighs them carefully…the ways she can pay for the medication…while maintaining her integrity.
Unacceptable behavior, bad decisions and a life spinning out of control is what everyone sees.
The desperate heart of a mother, a warrior under pressure and hope for a better future is what she believes.
Then she feels it
The love of God, which she never thought she was entitled to
So He hadn’t forgotten her as a child—as she had always thought
So He hadn’t hated her as a child—as she had always felt
So He hadn’t been ashamed of her weak foundation—as she always had seen it
For His gift of an anchor to hold her life still lie wrapped up in her newborn baby boy.
A redemptive gift from her heavenly Father for all that He had allowed to be taken
sealed with a promise to build a new foundation that could never be shaken.
She gratefully accepts it
the love of Jesus extending a helping hand-a program that gave her a second chance
the blessing of a humble home and a job so that she can advance
the dissolution of pride leading to repentance and forgiveness of a broken family
To her anchor she holds on firmly and walking by faith
Society’s outcasts, unified by their destinies meeting at specific point in time
A brotherhood and sisterhood often misunderstood by those that never give a dime.
There she goes—one of them
a Christian
not dwelling on her past
living in the moment
aware of her counted days…worship, prayer and praise flow throughout her day.
For nineteen years have passed and the Lord has given her grace to endure trails for a such a day as this.
She walks amongst the homeless with her brothers and sisters in Christ, to share her testimony and say that God isn’t about religious ceremonies
She’s still one of them
a homeless girl—but covered in the blood of Jesus
Will they accept the truth?
Will they take her helping hand?
With God’s arms held out to them, it doesn’t matter if everyone’s backs are against them.
Unacceptable behavior, bad decisions and a life spinning out of control is what society sees.
Lost sheep in need of direction to their Shepherd is what the people of Christ believe.
She prays for massive construction zones
thousands of damaged foundations being restored and strengthened
a revival of homeless people—all to be covered in the blood of Jesus.
For the will of God is for all to stand firm so that we may be saved in the end
